Peter Pan Goes Wrong

AUDITION DATES: August 14 @ 7:00 pm, August 15 @ 4:00 pm

AUDITION LOCATION: Biloxi Little Theatre

PRODUCTION DATES: November 13-15 & 20-22, 2022 (addition of Nov 19 possible)

DIRECTOR: Cuttino Alexander

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Cold readings from the script. Those auditioning may be asked to participate in improv and/or movement activities.

It is vital to believe in the characters performing the play-within-the-play, as that is where the sidesplitting comedy comes from. We are looking for truthful, funny, physically adept performers who can commit to the style of the play and fully inhabit the characters.

The accent required for many characters in this show is Received Pronunciation (RP) British English. Those auditioning are encouraged to demonstrate this accent.

THE SHOW:

Cornley Drama Society presents Peter Pan, and everything that could go wrong, does.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

While BLT previously produced The Play That Goes Wrong, this sequel production stands on its own, with distinct characters and demands. No roles are precast, and all actors will be fully considered based on their fit for this show.

GENDER CASTING IS FLEXIBLE FOR CERTAIN ROLES. ALL RACES AND ETHNICITIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.

ROLES TO BE FILLED:

CHRIS (Mr. Darling / Captain Hook)
The director of the show—this is the most important night of his life. As everything falls apart, his desperation, pain, and contempt for both the cast and audience grow.
Strong comic control required. RP accent.

ROBERT (Nana the Dog / Peter’s Shadow / Starkey)
A self-styled leading man with complete confidence and zero awareness. Fully committed, wildly physical, and gloriously misguided.
Requires bold physical comedy. RP accent.

FRANCIS (Narrator / Cecco)
A grounded, authoritative storyteller attempting to hold the production together, their initial patience steadily unraveling.
Strong, authentic presence—warm or elevated in style. Any accent.

SANDRA (Wendy Darling)
Ambitious, flirtatious, and convinced she’s the star. Constantly overacts and steals focus. In a love triangle with Jonathan and Max.
Big energy, comedic ego. RP accent.

DENNIS (John Darling / Mermaid / Mr. Smee)
A deeply uncomfortable performer who only joined for friendship and regrets everything. Painfully sincere and hilariously out of his depth.
Naive clown energy. RP accent.

MAX (Michael Darling / Mermaid / The Crocodile)
Inexperienced but oddly charming. Breaks through to the audience with sincerity. Secretly in love with Sandra, competitor of Jonathon.
Natural likability + comic instincts. RP accent.

ANNIE (Mrs. Darling / Lisa / Curly / Tinker Bell)
A stagehand turned actress who is overcommitted and in way over her head.
Quick changes and strong differentiation. American accent + varied British attempts.

TREVOR (Stage Manager)
Grumpy, no-nonsense stage manager who despises actors. Slowly dragged into performing against his will.
Deadpan comedy. American accent.

JONATHAN (Peter Pan)
Thinks he’s a suave leading man. Confident, slightly arrogant, very physical. In a love triangle with Sandra and Max.
Requires movement/physical confidence. RP accent.

LUCY (Tootles)
Timid, anxious, and overwhelmed—but finds confidence by the end.
Teenager or plays young. RP accent.

GILL (Stagehand / Paramedic)
Practical, reactive, part of the escalating chaos. Any accent.

CORNLEY STAGEHANDS (4–5 people)
Appear throughout, assisting with onstage disasters and engaging the audience pre-show and during intermission—the backbone of the immersive experience. A hybrid onstage/backstage role requiring precision, strong instincts, and collaborative improvisation.
Versatility and comfort breaking the fourth wall. Any accent.
